Tips on finding the best pouch

I received an email this week asking about pouch issues with a brand. It got me thinking that I should share some tips for finding a suitable pouch. Most of you guys list pouch issues as one of the most significant issues you have buying new underwear.

  1. Get a pair with a pouch - This may seem like a no-brainer, but many pairs of underwear don't have a built-in pouch design. While there is nothing wrong with these pairs, look for contour or ergonomically designed pairs if you are after a supportive pouch. Brands like Ergowear make several different pouches that will offer you the support you love.
  2. Get the correct size - Finding the right size in a new brand can be a chore. Look at the size chart and ask friends or online friends if they have tried the brand. See what they have to say about the brand. However, if you buy a pair too large, the pouch may not fit well and could cause gaps for things to fall out. The pouch can be too tight and restricting if you get too small. If you have any questions about the pairs, feel free to contact me!
  3. Get stretchy Material - Personally, I like a pouch that conforms to my body. That means I love a nice spandex/lycra blend. This gives the pouch extra support. Materials that you should stay away from are 100% cotton (which will lose its form throughout the day), Satin (fabric is sexy but has very little give), and 100% nylon (just like Satin, it has no give). One to consider is Modal, I love the fabric's breathability, but it offers a more natural hang.

These are a few tips for getting the best pouch. If you have any tips you would like to share, let us know, and we will post them soon! If you have any questions or tips, contact me.
